Please join us in congratulating Dr. Teri Talan, currently serving as Interim Executive Director and professor of early childhood education, on her appointment by National Louis University as the Michael W. Louis Chair of the McCormick Center for Early Childhood Leadership.

Teri joined the McCormick Center in 2002 and the faculty of the National College of Education at NLU in 2004. Since then she has become a nationally recognized advocate for the early childhood workforce. Teri has voiced a simple, consistent, and compelling message—it takes effective early childhood leadership to support quality teaching and learning so young children thrive. In addition to numerous articles, Teri is co-author of the Program Administration ScaleBusiness Administration Scale for Family Child Care, and “Who’s Caring for the Kids? The Status of the Early Childhood Workforce in Illinois”.

Teri began her new role February 1, 2016, and will help guide the search for our new Executive Director. Providing strategic direction and operational leadership, together they will ensure we remain at the national forefront of providing leadership development for early childhood program administrators.
